The forward wants a move to the Chinese Super League, but the Hammers have rejected an offer of £35million
Marko Arnautovic appeared to wave goodbye to the West Ham fans when he was substituted in their Premier League win against Arsenal.
The Hammers rejected an offer of £35million from an unnamed Chinese Super League side for the Austria international, who cost the club £20m to buy in 2017.
West Ham maintain the 29-year-old is not for sale but his representative, Danijel Arnautovic, is urging the Premier League club to let him move on this month.
Arnautovic helped fire the Hammers to Premier League safety last season, and in doing so quickly established himself as a fan favourite.
He appeared to wave goodbye to the home support when he was taken off in the 71st first minute and replaced by Andy Carroll in the 1-0 home win.
Despite his desire to leave the London Stadium this month, Danijel promised his brother will continue to give 100 per cent for the club up until he no longer represents them.
Fans on social media were also convinced this means he will be heading for the exit after this match, with the Hammers not in action at home again until they host Liverpool on 4 February.
