The Legian in Bali is set on a heavenly location, right on the beach of Seminyak. While there is plenty to see and do in the area, visitors will probably be unwilling to leave this stunning hotel. Friendly staff cater to your every need, the food is outstanding, and with a spa, fitness centre and impressive pool, there is everything you could need here. The Legian is award-winning, and even a short stay will quickly reveal why.
We stayed in an impressive two bedroom suite – worth it for the oodles of space.
A generous lounge, dining area and private balcony overlooking the sea meant on days when we couldn’t be bothered to move, we didn’t have to.
The pantry was stocked with treats and snacks on arrival and refilled throughout our stay, which was a nice touch.
For this weary city dweller, the massive bath – which came complete with candles and oils to add to the experience – was a sight so welcome, I squealed with delight.
FOOD & DRINK
Book in at The Restaurant, a fine dining Asian-European venue set overlooking the sea.
We feasted on French wine and delicious seafood for our first dinner, topping the meal off with an unforgettable chocolate and raspberry tart.
Happily, breakfast is served in the same venue, and there is nothing more relaxing than eating fresh fruit (or eggs Benedict!) while listening to the sounds of the water.
For lunch, The Pool Bar is a casual option to enjoy food while taking a break from tanning, with options such as vegetable tempura and tortilla chips with guacamole.
You are in Bali – so having a massage is a must. Every element of the spa has been well thought out – from the offer of a refreshing tea on arrival to the huge private changing area before treatment begins.
I had a classic Balinese massage, which was 90 minutes of bliss. My skilled therapist made sure I was happy with the pressure before giving me one of the best massages I’ve ever had (honestly – it’s a high I’ve been chasing with inferior massages ever since my return home).
Should you want to work out, head to the Wellness Centre, which is choc full of equipment and also boasts a sauna, steam room and hot lunch whirlpool.
