The 32-year-old actress has become a fan favourite on Game of Thrones since she started playing the Mother of Dragons in 2011. In a candid interview with BBC Radio 1, she said she “often” had “give us a selfie” shouted to her when she was out and about. “For future reference, ‘Please may I…?’ doesn’t hurt,” she laughed. But if Game of Thrones fanatics really want to please their idol, Emilia Clarke admitted she is particularly happy to sign autographs instead of snapping selfies.
Saying she regularly had people approaching her with their phones already poised and ready, the blonde beauty explained: “Sometimes you get people coming up and you’re like aww, you’re just going to ask for an autograph, that’s really lovely.
“Because this is the thing, when people ask me for autographs, nine times out of 10 I’m writing some kind of personalised note because I appreciate that,” she continued sincerely.
Emilia said she sometimes wasn’t in the mood for pictures with fans but was always willing to give them an autograph.
“Every once in a while you’re not having a good day and you’re like, ‘I don’t think you want this picture but I promise you I’ll sign something for you if you like,’” she said.
As well as becoming a household name for her role in HBO’s fantasy drama epic Game of Thrones, Emilia has also appeared din the likes of Terminator Genisys, Me Before You and, last year, Solo: A Star Wars Story.
She also spilled all on her outlet after filming for some of the “intense” scenes she’s been involved in, opening up about her love of daytime TV.

“There’s two genres that you’ll find me in,” she said. “A lot of the time you’re filming such intense stuff and you’re literally like, I can’t get involved in a really beautiful movie or in a really great TV series that’s going to haunt my dreams.
“So, Grand Designs — ain’t nothing wrong with it! MasterChef — hello! Lovely,” Emilia quipped.
Saying Hell’s Kitchen is too much for her to “handle” with the amount of shouting it features, she continued: “At least with MasterChef, it’s chill.
“It’s very impressive, I do love it. I’m a foodie, I love cooking. And Grand Designs as well is just chill.”
The star also listed Location, Location, Location as a guilty pleasure.
This April, the eighth and final season of Game of Thrones is set to air, drawing the series — based on the stories by George R. R. Martin — to a conclusion.
Season eight will mark the shortest to date, with only six episodes as opposed to the usual 10.
Last month, the first trailer for the final season hinted cryptically at what fans can expect in the coming months.
None of the cast appeared in the teaser, which simply showed ice and fire gradually engulfing symbols for the two main families.
Game of Thrones season 8 returns to Sky Atlantic in April 2019.
