That is according to former Ballon d’Or winner Michael Owen.
Aubameyang currently sits atop the Premier League goalscoring ranks alongside Sergio Aguero on eight strikes.
Since signing for a club-record fee of £60million in January, the Gabon striker has usurped Alexandre Lacazette as Arsenal’s chief striker.
The nippy striker has scored 18 goals in 26 league games and will be looking to add to his tally in his first home north London derby on Sunday.
A win for Arsenal would see them leapfrog Spurs and prolong their unbeaten run to 19 games in all competitions.
Like Aubameyang, Owen took no timing in bursting onto the top-flight scene, scoring 18 goals in his first full season for Liverpool in 1997/98.
The striker-turned-pundit is expecting a swashbuckling encounter on Sunday afternoon, telling BetVictor: “North London rivals Arsenal and Spurs can always be relied upon to entertain especially when facing each other.
“The Gunners will feel more pressure to win to close a three point gap.
“The race to finish in the top four looks likely to be between the three big London clubs [Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea].”
As for Aubameyang, who scored a winner in the Gunners’ last league game at the Vitality Stadium, Owen had strong words of praise.
“Arsenal were unconvincing but still picked up maximum points from their trip to Bournemouth,” he continued.
“Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang have a man in form and one of the deadliest marksmen in the top flight.”
There have been two or less goals in the last four north London derbies, but Owen is predicting a high-scoring affair this weekend.
“Of course both teams look full of goals and a high scoring shootout looks likely,” he added.
“I still can’t trust either to win though and am happy to predict a 2-2 finish.”
