Harry Limburn wins in Southsea

Harry Limburn wins in Southsea 8963494

Harry Limburn put in the best performance of his professional career as he defeated Jamie Quinn in Southsea.

The Southampton lightweight boxed superbly, setting a high work rate and using his jab to great effect to set up his combinations to body and head and, when Quinn did fire back, Limburn made him miss by slipping and catching his punches and moving his feet to get him out of trouble.

Limburn’s coach, Gary White, commented: “I said before the bout he had improved a lot in the gym and was hoping he could produce it on the night and I’m pleased to say that he did show the improvements.

“He picked his shots a lot better whereas before he was rushing them a bit and he used his jab a lot more, which in the past he’s neglected and is a far better weapon for him than he realises.

“The thing that impressed me the most was the quality of his defence which has been a bit of week point for him.

“Of course there is still lots to work on he got a bit too involved at times when he didn’t need to but on the whole I was delighted with his performance.”

He added: “Joey Pyle has told me that he wants to move Harry up to six round contests soon and that could either be in his next bout or the one after so things are moving along nicely for him.

“I would like personally to thank Harry’s co-manager John Edwards and cuts man Kazy Kindon for their continued support and help in the corner. I would also like to thank Harry’s huge army of fans who once again made for a fantastic atmosphere and a great night.”
