The start time has been revealed for the massive main event on September 15
Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez vs Gennady Golovkin Part 2 will headline a massive Pay-Per-View event on September 15 in Las Vegas.
The rematch follows on from their controversial first fight, which most observers felt should have gone to GGG, though the judges infamously scored it a draw.
Respect has since been lost between the pair as they were initially meant to face off again in May, but Canelo tested positive for Clenbuterol and received a six-month ban as a result.
Their second fight will be shown live on HBO in the US and BT Sport in the UK, though it is usually unclear exactly when the main event is set to start.
However, Golden Boy Promotions president Eric Gomez revealed all at the final press conference on Wednesday.
What time is the main event for Canelo vs Gennady Golovkin?
Canelo vs GGG II ring walks are set to take place shortly before 8pm local time on Saturday, September 15, which is 4am UK time on Sunday, September 16.
The aim is to have both fighters in the ring and ready to begin their rematch by bang on 4am UK time.
Often promoters claim they will do this, but shows end up overrunning and proceedings are pushed back, however last year Golden Boy promised the first fight between Canelo and GGG would start by 4am and were true to their word.
When should I set my alarm for?
If you are a fight fan aiming to wake up just in time for the main event, we would advise you to set your alarm for 3:45-ish. As long as you are up and about by then, you surely won’t miss anything and won’t have to wait to long before the action begins.
