West Brom team news: This is the side selected to take on Luton Town

Darren Moore has made plenty of changes, eight in all, as he attempts to navigate a way past Luton Town in the Carabao Cup without risking his star men.

Matt Phillips, Ahmed Hegazi and Harvey Barnes are the only three players to keep their place from the 4-3 win at Norwich City on Saturday.

In come Boaz Myhill, Tosin Adarabioyo, Conor Townsend, Sam Field, Rekeem Harper, James Morrison (as captain), Oliver Burke and Hal Robson-Kanu.

And out go Sam Johnstone, Allan Nyom, Kieran Gibbs, Kyle Bartley, Jake Livermore, Chris Brunt, Dwight Gayle and Jay Rodriguez.

Bartley, Livermore, Gayle and Rodriguez all start on the bench alongside Jonathan Bond, Kyle Edwards and Jonathan Leko.

Townsend comes in for his home debut after a hugely inmpressive bow at Carrow Road.

The 25-year-old is Albion’s only fit left-back with Gibbs having taken a knock at the weekend.

But the plan was always to give the former Scunthorpe United man a run-out.

There’s no place in the squad for Gareth Barry, Craig Dawson and Nacer Chadli.

Barry misses out on compassionate grounds having reportedly attended his brother’s funeral today.

Dawson and Chadli have been omitted over ongoing concerns about their fitness levels.

But they stand an outside chance of making the bench against QPR on Saturday.
