Mawson was unable to guide Swansea to Premier League safety last season but will remain in England’s top flight after moving to the west London club
Newly-promoted Premier League side Fulham have secured the signing of defender Alfie Mawson from Swansea for a fee of up to £20million.
The 24-year-old defender, who has signed a four-year deal at Craven Cottage, is the west London club’s sixth signing of their summer as they bolster their squad ahead of their return to the Premier League.
Mawson said: “I’m really happy to get this over the line and join Fulham.
“I’m excited by the project going on here and the football being played last season was lovely on the eye but also effective and I can’t wait to be a part of it and get going.
Mawson was one of Swansea’s star performers last season but he was unable to prevent them from Premier League relegation.
However, the move to Fulham means he will continue playing in England’s top flight.
The centre-back joins the likes of Aleksandar Mitrovic, Andre Schurrle and Jean Michael Seri as new arrivals at the club.
