The Bolton fighter displayed lightning-fast hands to dispatch of Lo Greco with unexpected ferocity at the Echo Arena in Liverpool last night, flooring the 33-year-old inside 30 seconds with a dizzying combination.
A dazed Lo Greco made it back to his feet looking bewildered by Khan’s agility but he was soon put to sleep in a tornado of combinations before the referee called time on proceedings.
Former IBF welterweight champion Brook, who has long campaigned for a domestic super-fight with Khan, was ringside to watch the destruction and climbed into the ring to confront his nemesis.
Both men are now represented by Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Sports, further fuelling speculation that the fight could finally be on the horizon.
But speaking in the aftermath of his stunning win, Khan appeared less keen on seeing the fight happen in 2018 than Brook.
“He’s a good fighter, he’s at 154lb. Like I said, I’m still campaigning at 147lb,” Khan explained.
“When we sit down with Eddie, we’ll see when the right move is to 154lb – or maybe a catchweight – then the fight is going to happen.
“But look, I’m not running scared. My performance proves it. I’m not one of those fighters to ever be scared of anyone.
“I went up to fight the likes of Canelo [Alvarez] and took his shots. With someone like Kell, it’s always good to have that rivalry and I think if it ever happens it will be big.
“But at the moment, I want to sit with Eddie and see what my future is, if it is going to be at 147lb, who those names are.
“I want to win a world title first at 147lb before I start going up.”
