Leighton Griffiths is the new player-manager of Llanrwst United.
Griffiths takes over from Barry Owen, who stepped down last week for “personal reasons”.
Under Owen, the club has emerged as an unexpected force in the Welsh Alliance Division One title race this season.
Griffiths has managed the Rwsters in the past, his reign including a notable Mawddach Cup triumph.
He will be assisted by Rhodri Davies, who was also joint-manager with Owen at Gwydir Park.
Griffiths said: “We’ve got a difficult run-in, with all of the top seven still to play, but we’re determined to keep up the momentum and finish as high as we can.”
Griffiths’ reign begins on a high with Llanrwst having thrashed St Asaph City 4-1 on their Travels last weekend, a result which keeps them third in the table.
United were on top from the start, Luke Roberts finding himself one-on-one with the keeper within the first five minutes but blazing over the bar.
The hosts struggled with the pace of Roberts and went 1-0 down after 24 minutes.
Great build-up play from the Rwsters resulted in a delicious first-time cross by Roberts and Mezz Knight was in the right place with a super header.
Eight minutes later it was two, Roberts again beating his man for pace and delivering an inch-perfect cross for Knight to finish well.
It did not take long after the interval for Llanrwst to score again.
Roberts raced clear of the Asaph defence and took his chance with confidence for 3-0.
St Asaph pulled one back through Josh Taylor, but five minutes later, Griffiths converted a penalty.
This Saturday sees Llanrwst host Greenfield in the Mawddach Cup, kick-off 2pm at Parc Gwydir.
