A man and a dog were rescued by coastguards following reports the animal had jumped into water at Connah’s Quay and he was trying to rescue it.
By the time the coastguard arrived at Dock Road the man and springer spaniel were on the deck of a boat moored up to the dock wall.
The man, who was rescuing his grandfather’s dog Kodi, had leapt 8-10ft onto the boat.
However, he was unable to climb up a ladder that was attached to the dock wall because of security boards barring his way.
Neither the man or dog were injured.
Coastguard Rescue Team handed down a life jacket and blanket to keep the pair warm.
Meanwhile Flint RNLI Lifeboat Station was asked to send a vessel to take them off the boat.
The team transported the grandson springer spaniel back to the slipway at Connah’s Quay.
