John Terry has been spending time with his family at Wimbledon today which appears to rule him out of tonight’s friendly double-header against Kidderminster Harriers and Telford.
Villa’s latest recruit was enjoying a spot of tennis at SW19 this afternoon and watched British hopeful Andy Murray crash out in five sets to American Sam Querrey.
Villa supporters had been hoping to catch a glimpse of Terry for the first time in claret and blue this evening, but it looks like they will now have to wait until Saturday’s match at Shrewsbury Town, at the earliest.
The former Chelsea and England captain completed a full week’s training out in Portugal with his new teammates and has settled in well.
But Bruce will probably have to make do without the 36-year-old tonight as he indulges in Wimbledon traditions of strawberries and cream and scones with his family.
