ARMSTRONG EYES SILVERWARE SWEEP

CELTIC hope to celebrate their 21st successive victory over Scottish opposition when they face Hamilton Accies at Parkhead this afternoon.

The Hoops, unbeaten in 32 domestic games, can ease a remarkable THIRTY-THREE points clear of Sevco Rangers who nosedived to their seventh league defeat of a miserable campaign when they crashed 2-1 to Inverness Caley Thistle last night.

Midfielder Stuart Armstrong insisted there will no let-up between now and the end of the season as the team target a silverware sweep of honours.

He said: “The manager has big expectations of us and standards are always high, not just for games, but training, as well.

“The boys put in maximum effort for training, anyway, but there is an aim for training and what we want to achieve from it.

“The cliche of game-by-game is what we do. No matter if it’s a Champions League game or a lower team in the Cup, we prepare the same way.

“This is key to being us being relentless in every game we play. We expect lots of ourselves in each match.”

Armstrong, who returned from recent injury as a sub against Motherwell last week, added: “I only have a couple of months left in the season.

“I was in and out at the start and got myself back into the team in September/November time and had a nice little run.

“It would be nice to finish the campaign strongly and look back on it as a season of learning and development and also one that I have enjoyed, with, hopefully, lots of success.”
