Aston Villa are at the head of the queue for in-demand Bury youngster Jacob Bedeau, according to The Bury Times .
Villa are said to be beating off competition from Manchester giants United and City for the 17-year-old defender.
Bury are thought to be holding out for a seven-figure fee for Bedeau, who is also interesting Liverpool.
The report suggests that Villa have opened the bidding for the talented teen with a substantial offer, though the two clubs are yet to reach an agreement for the transfer of the player.
Bedeau will have been lined up by former Wigan Head of Recruitment Dave Downes, the man responsible with finding the most talented youngsters for the club’s academy.
Downes’ role has taken on extra significance since owner Dr Tony Xia revealed plans to make Villa’s academy a force across the country once again.
Beating a host of top clubs to the signature of Bedeau would represent a statement of intent by the Villans.
