The Tottenham Hotspur defender has been a revelation for Gareth Southgate’s side in Russia
England star Kieran Trippier has made his dad extremely proud after his incredible World Cup heroics.
The Tottenham Hotspur defender, who starts against Sweden in their quarter-final clash on Saturday, has created 12 chances at the World Cup in Russia
And his dad, Chris, told talkSPORT he cannot believe just how well his son is doing for the Three Lions!
“It’s just an unbelievable feeling what we’re going through, for all the family and friends,” he said.
“We always knew that Kieran would be a good player but to get to this level is just amazing.”
It is almost incredulous to think Trippier was not guaranteed a place at Spurs last summer – even when stalwart Kyle Walker left to join Manchester City.
However, thanks to the hard work put in by the former Burnley man and the love and support of his family friend, he is ready to carry England to the last four in Russia.
Chris Trippier added: “It’s just a proud, proud moment for all of us – I’m bursting with pride.
“When he stepped up the other night to take that penalty my heart was pounding!
