BATSMAN Tom Jacques propelled himself into the Bournemouth Evening League history books with a blistering century.
Representing Ageas in a cup quarter-final against College, the Bashley batsman struck a remarkable 136 to outscore the entire opposition and guide his side to a memorable triumph.
With Ageas electing to bat first, Jacques, who skippers the midweek outfit, arrived at the crease with the score on four for one.
Carnage ensued immediately in the 15-over contest with the former Parley and Dorset star smashing eight sixes and 15 fours.
Jacques continued the onslaught until Simon Bellamy had him caught in the final over – the next highest score recorded by an Ageas batsman was 12.
To their credit, College posted a final total of 110 for seven in reply with five of the Ageas bowlers not letting up for a second.
Opener Jon Dooley made 21, Bellamy scored 37 and all-rounder Dominic Norton was unbeaten on 35.
Jacques has scored 232 runs for Bashley in first-team cricket this season, at an average of just more than 33.
He is set to feature when Bashley tomorrow host Lymington in the Southern Premier League (11am).
