Salah was forced off with injury after just half an hour of the Champions League final
Mohamed Salah has released a statement on his Instagram admitting he is ‘confident’ he will be taking part in this summer’s World Cup.
Salah, the Egypt forward, was injured during Saturday’s Champions League final, which Liverpool ended up losing 3-1 to Real Madrid.
A tussle with Sergio Ramos resulted in both falling to the ground, with Salah’s right arm pinned between Ramos’ left arm and body.
A few minutes later, Salah was forced out of the game with an injury to his left shoulder.
Early reports suggested Salah could miss the World Cup, due to start in under a month, but he has come out to clarify the situation.
Though he has given no actual injury update, Salah posted a message on his Instagram saying he is ‘confident’ he will be in Russia this summer.
Egypt’s World Cup campaign gets underway on June 15 with a clash against Uruguay, before they round off the group stage against Russia, the hosts, and Saudi Arabia.
