A misshapen toy duck has become an internet sensation after being spotted in a North Wales branch of Home Bargains.
The fluffy Easter themed character, listed as a “Star Buy” in the shop appears to be the result of a manufacturing error.
Its eyes have been sewn on in the wrong place, giving the cuddly toy a uniquely hilarious characteristic.
Seen in the newly opened Buckley store, a customer shared a photo of the unusual duck on social media, captioning the find: “Check out the Star Buy in Buckley Home Bargains”.
It seems the internet has fallen in love with the quirky-looking plushie and its upside down features.
The photo has been shared widely on social media, with many users unable to resist commenting on the toy’s funny appearance.
One wrote: “aww don’t discriminate against less-abled ducks”
Another empathised with the animals expression, saying: “They look like I felt yesterday morning lol”.
One had a creative solution, suggesting: “Just turn it upside down, it’ll look like it’s doing a headstand.”
Another snapped a photo of one of the toys saying: “Don’t discriminate the duck.”
Despite only being on sale since the start of the week, the ducks have since flown off the shelves after shoppers flocked to the bargain store buy their own.
Just three were left on the shelf this morning following yesterday’s social media post, with shoppers making a special trip to hunt down the irregular plushie.
One woman had filled her basket with several, saying she saw the price of the duck on the post and at 99p, it is “perfect for the dogs.”
Another took just the one, saying the Star Buy was “adorable.”
To some collectors, imperfection is a sign of perfection and defective collectibles can be worth a fair bit of cash. But whether this cute character will be worth more than its novelty value is yet to be seen.
