Liverpool produced a flawless performance as they ran rampant against Porto in the first leg of their last-16 tie, romping to a 5-0 win in Portugal.
Porto offered little resistance and Mane was the star turn, netting a hat-trick, while Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino also got in on the act.
Mane’s treble meant he only became the second Reds player since Michael Owen in 2002 to score three times away from home in a game.
And Milner has highlighted that Mane’s game is more than just about goals and insists his workmate makes him an invaluable cog in the side.
“Sadio [Mane] does his job and does a great job for the team,” Milner said.
“People see his flair and the goals that he scores but he does a great job working for the team.”
Milner has even cheekily admitted that Liverpool could have scored more, adding: “Porto are a very good side.
“It’s a tough place to come, you could see the crowd and the way they were even at the end.
“We wanted to keep a clean sheet and with the players we have we always have the chance to score an away goal. I thought we could have scored more.”
Elsewhere, Real Madrid beat Paris Saint-Germain 3-1 in the first leg of their tie at the Bernabeu.
