Tottenham Hotspur fans have been reacting to the news that Aston Villa will try to sign Josh Onomah on a permanent basis.
The 20-year-old was one of the stars of the show as Villa defeated Fulham 2-1 at Villa Park on Saturday.
And following the match Steve Bruce told the Birmingham Mail that Villa would try to ‘break the bank’ to sign the England talent.
He said: “Josh Onomah was terrific today.
“We’ll try and break the bank for him!
“But we know Spurs have got a very good player there.”
Onomah only signed a new contract until 2021 at Spurs prior to his move to Villa Park and manager Maurico Pochettino is thought to be a big admirer of the Enfield-born attacker.
That could make any future deal difficult for Villa.
Spurs fans have been reacting to the comments on social media and through our sister publication Football.London . It appears they are eager to keep hold of the England-U20s international.
Here’s the best of the reaction.
Christopher Saunders: No chance he’s a star in the making like Harry
Andrew Hull: Absolutely no chance! He’s going to be superstar for Spurs and England.
Akeema Alaka: No way…our boy is there temporarily! Josh is coming back home.
Vashist Aujayeb: Ideal long term replacement for Demeble. No way!
Olly Rookes: Poch wont let him go. He’s a star in the making, come home josh, him and winks are the future of out midfield, nice try thou
