Council bosses want to find an operator to run a new waterfront cafe.
Conwy council has secured planning permission for the eating place on Colwyn Bay promenade.
Now officers are looking for a contractor to erect the site.
They also need an operator to take on the building once work is complete.
It is set to open next summer.
This new cafe is part of the multi-million pound regeneration work on the seafront – aimed at protecting the coast and attracting more visitors to the beach.
Work on Phase 2 of the Colwyn Bay waterfront scheme started in August 2016 – with almost 1km of the existing promenade getting transformed.
The promenade road reopened this summer.
A Conwy council spokeswoman said: “A design competition for the concession building was held, which was won by architecture student Nichola Hilton from Glyndwr University.
“The design was then developed by George & Tomos Architects, Machynlleth to produce the final plans.
“The building was given planning permission in August 2017.
“The procurement process is underway to find a contractor to construct the building. And procurement is also underway for a tenant to run the building.
“It is scheduled to be open in summer 2018.”
