The Italian Open is one of the European Tour’s top events as part of the Rolex Series.
The annual tournament is being staged at the Golf Club Milano in Monza.
Francesco Molinari won his home tournament last year for a second time, having first tasted victory in 2006 at Castello Tolcinasco in Milan.
Molinari will play alongside Danny Willett and Alex Noren on the first day of the tournament on Thursday.
Yet the big trio tee off later in the day with Jon Rahm, Tommy Fleetwood and Sergio Garcia underway at 1.05pm.
