DORSET sensation Georgia Hall is targeting a place in the world’s top 20.
The Wimborne-based professional rose a staggering 41 spots – climbing from 85th to 44th – after finishing tied third in the Women’s British Open at Kingsbarns.
And, while the former Oakmead College pupil was happy to break into the top 50, she has set her sights on even bigger goals.
Hall, who will represent Europe in the Solheim Cup at Des Moines Golf and Country Club in Iowa next week, told the Daily Echo: “To be in the top 50 now, on paper, is great. I am very happy and, hopefully, I can get even lower.
“Even when I was at 80th or 90th, I was playing hardly any events compared with other people.
“Also, I wasn’t playing in America, so I never felt that was truly reflecting on my golf and me as a golfer.”
She added: “It would be nice to get in the top 20. That’s my next goal world ranking-wise.
“I definitely think I can get in the top 20 and even lower in the future but am just looking forward to the tournaments coming up now.”
