DORSET captain Chris Park has his sights set on second place in the Unicorns Western Division and is targeting a win against Cornwall in his side’s final game of the season at North Perrott, starting tomorrow (11am).
Currently sitting third and trailing Cheshire in second by 14 points, Dorset need to win to stand any chance of usurping them, while holding off Devon in fourth, who lie two points behind them.
Park said: “We’re looking forward to having a good game against Cornwall and seeing where we can finish up.
“It’s a season of what-ifs. As a squad we have improved. Maybe the results haven’t shown that enough.”
Dorset welcome back opening batsman Tom Arnold to the team, while Scott Currie also comes in and Josh Digby is a late replacement for Bradley Currie, who will play for Surrey’s second XI.
Commenting on the return of Arnold, who scored a century against Devon in his previous game for Dorset, Park admitted the county set-up was aware of his limited availability.
He said: “We were aware that he was available for the first and last game. It’s good to have him back at the top of the order.
“Scott Currie comes in, deservedly so. He’s bowling nicely for Hampshire Academy at the moment.”
