When it comes to burgers or hot dogs there are a lot of choices in Aberdeen – but few offer the quality, quantity and value of The Wig.

Opening The Wig’s menus you are faced with usual pub grub options or one of their burgers, hotdogs or chicken escalope which can then have one of the chef’s near 20 topping combinations added.

After not much deliberation I opted for the Mexican hotdog – a jumbo frankfurter smothered in beef chilli, cheese and sour cream.

Across the table my dining companion punted for the Frenchman burger – a pate covered in blue cheese, bacon and garlic mushrooms.

Both came with a mountain of seasoned chips, homemade slaw and a gherkin.

For drinks we went for a cola and a pint of cider.

Both meals tasted great and were more than filling – we’ll definitely be back.
